Bridgetown is the main island and the largest city in the state in the Lesser Antilles Barbados. It lies on the coast in the southwestern part of the island, and the eastern Caribbean. This port city was founded in 1628 as Indian Bridge. It was badly damaged by fire and hurricanes.
