California African American Museum, Exposition Park, Los Angeles, California

Opened in 1981 in place while in the California Science Center, Exposition Park, Los Angeles, California, United States. This museum was built with the purpose of research, collect, preserve, and translate history and culture of African – Americans, and re-opened to the public on a new building in 1984. By displaying several collections of art and books, besides it the California African American Museum has a permanent collection such as sculptures, photographs, paintings, and artifacts from African and American art of the 19th century, with several educational programs that serve students, and visitors of all ages.
