Komodo Island, Indonesia’s National Parks

Naming this island originated from Lieutenant Steyn van Hens Broek proving a report from the Dutch troops that there was a large animal like a dragon in this island, Last steyn killed this animals and examined in bogor, then in 1910 the Dutch named the island with nickname of komodo island. Administratively, this island including the District of Komodo, West Manggarai regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. Komodo is the most western tip of North Nusa Tenggara province, bordering the province of West Nusa Tenggara. Komodo island is known as a habitat for native animals was used as a national park komodo by the central government. And Komodo Island is still ranked number 8 of the 55 nominees who entered the category Forest National Parks and nature reserves in the New 7 Wonders for the last update on 15 June 2009. Until August 2009 the animal is growing well, there are 1300 plus 2500 tail reaching Rinca island. Also stores a variety of exotic flora Sepang wood that is widely used local people as a medicinal, and food coloring.

Diving. in the waters of this island there are also exotic sea floor, a quiet place with colorful shallow reefs alive with hundreds of colorful reef fish. From ghost pipefish, nudibranchs and blue-ringed octopus decoration Frogfish clown, sunfish, manta rays, dolphins and eagle rays to pygmy seahorses,so many foreigners do diving activities on the island of Komodo dragons (komodo island)
