Wintergreen Resort is a four-season mountain on the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Nelson County, Virginia. This is a “Mountain Top” station in which all facilities are built on the peaks and ridges.
Wintergreen offers 45 holes of championship golf, ski season, snowboarding and snow tubing Diving is a 900-foot snow tubing hill, which consists of 10 channels and a terrain park, with arrows and rails, an award-winning program courts, a full service, destination spa, 40,000 square feet (4,000 m2) of meeting and event space, hosting, and a variety of dining options. The resort rises about 600 feet above sea level in the valley at Stoney Creek at an altitude of nearly 4,000 feet on the mountain, and receives 300 villa-style condominiums and rental houses, home studios seven bedrooms.
Because of its altitude, the resort enjoys a highly seasonal climate, with cool mountain temperatures and low humidity in spring and summer. Summer temperatures rarely exceed 82 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Colder temperatures in winter, combined with the elevation of the mountains, to allow various winter sports from December to March.
